MeyerHaugen at Arendalsuka 2026: Five events on leadership, recruitment, AI, and the future of work

How do we find tomorrow's top leaders? How can AI strengthen recruitment efforts? What can businesses learn from elite sports? And which leaders will shape Norway in the years to come?

At Arendalsuka 2026, MeyerHaugen is hosting five events that will shine a light on some of the most critical issues facing Norwegian leaders, HR professionals, and decision-makers right now. Through talks, podcasts, and expert discussions, we are bringing together top executives, politicians, experts, and business leaders to share insights, experiences, and perspectives on the future of leadership.

All events take place at Langbryggen 7, 2nd floor, Wednesday 12 August.

Why visit MeyerHaugen during Arendalsuka?

The world of work is changing rapidly. Artificial intelligence is challenging established work processes, the battle for talent is becoming increasingly tough, and demands on leadership are higher than ever.

At Arendalsuka, we wish to contribute with concrete experiences, new insights, and relevant discussions on how businesses can succeed with leadership, recruitment, and organisational development in a time of change.

Whether you are a top executive, a manager, an HR director, a board member, or working with recruitment and talent development, you will find topics that are directly relevant to your everyday work.

Programme: MeyerHaugen at Arendalsuka

11.30 AM–12.15 PM: Executive Podcast with Ola Svenneby and Siv Jensen

How to build strong organisations, develop new leaders and create results in a time of turmoil and rapid change?

In this special episode of the Topplederpodcasten, Petter Meyer and Siv Jensen are joined by the Conservative Party’s second deputy leader, Ola Svenneby, for an open discussion on leadership, organisational development and Norway’s future competitiveness.

The conversation will include, among other things:

  • Developing the next generation of leaders
  • How to build teams that deliver over time
  • Starting your career
  • Change management in complex organisations
  • How Norway can strengthen its competitiveness

For leaders seeking insight into how future organisations are built, this is a conversation that offers both perspectives and reflections.

12.30–13.15: Presentation of Skillscanner – AI that interviews candidates

Can artificial intelligence conduct job interviews? At Arendalsuka, MeyerHaugen is presenting Skillscanner, a Norwegian-developed AI tool that conducts structured interviews, assesses candidates and provides recruiters with a better basis for decision-making. The technology has been developed with one key principle at its heart: people hire people.

During the event, you'll see how the solution works in practice and how AI can contribute to:

  • More structured candidate assessments
  • Improved quality in the selection process
  • Time savings for managers and HR
  • More consistent assessments
  • Support for decision-making without replacing human judgement

This is an important discussion for everyone concerned with the future of recruitment and how technology can be used responsibly.

1.30–2.15 pm: AI in recruitment – from hype to competitive advantage

AI is no longer a future scenario. The question is how businesses can use the technology in a way that actually creates value. In this talk, Sverre Haugen shares practical insights and best practice for using artificial intelligence throughout the recruitment process.

You get insight into:

  • How AI can streamline search and screening
  • Use of AI in candidate communication
  • Analysis and Decision Support
  • Ethics, privacy, and quality assurance
  • How to combine AI with human judgment

The goal is not to automate people out of the process – but to free up more time for relationships, candidate experience, and better decisions.

For leaders and HR professionals who want to stay ahead, this is a presentation full of practical advice that can be implemented immediately.

2.30–3.15 pm: What characterises Norway’s greatest leadership talents?

For several years, MeyerHaugen has assisted E24 in identifying Norway's top leadership talents under 35 years old. But what really separates the best from the rest? In this talk, Petter Meyer and Sverre Haugen share insights from assessing hundreds of candidates from business, the public sector, and entrepreneurial communities.

Topics covered include:

  • Execution power
  • Strategic thinking
  • Relationship skills
  • Learning ability
  • Personal leadership
  • How to identify leadership potential

Participants will gain a unique insight into the common traits of young leaders who achieve results, build strong teams and succeed with change.

For organisations working in the fields of leadership development, talent management and succession planning, this is a rare opportunity to understand what characterises the top leaders of tomorrow.

15:30–16:15: What can the working world learn from elite sports?

Leadership under constant pressure is a reality in both the business world and elite sports. In this lecture, we meet Svein Graff, General Manager of Vålerenga Fotball Elite, who shares experiences from leading one of Norway's most high-profile sports organisations.

Through concrete examples, you will gain insight into:

  • Change management when results are lacking
  • Culture building under pressure
  • Motivation and performance
  • Prospect Management
  • Organisational development and commercial growth
  • How to build resilient organisations

Graff has experience from leading roles in sports, media, and business, and brings with him perspectives that are directly transferable to modern enterprises.

For leaders looking to strengthen culture, collaboration and execution, this is a presentation that combines inspiration with practical experience.
