About the role
As a Data Engineer, you will be driving the continuous development of Santander’s data & analytics platform as well as defining and managing best practices for data integration.
You will work closely with IT and business teams to operationalize new data & analytics initiatives, to ensure that data management best practices are followed in cross-functional integration teams. You will also function as a tech lead for external development resources.
Tasks and responsibilities in the role includes:
Design and development of efficient data pipelines and data platform solutions
Oversee technical delivery from external development teams
Utilize innovative and modern tools and techniques to automate repeatable data integration tasks
Work continuously to improve and optimize our data platform and data pipelines
Test and learn emerging technology for data management, storage and analytics
Participate in ensuring compliance and governance in our data provisioning
Collaboration and training of relevant parties within the data & analytics organization

When evaluating candidates, we will emphasize the following experience, traits and qualifications:
Experience working with following technologies such as Azure, AWS, Informatica ICS or Snowflake is a plus, but not compulsory
Experience with cloud data platforms is a plus but not compulsory
High proficiency with popular database technologies and programming languages as SQL, PL/SQL/ NoSQL
Basic experience with Python or other programming languages
Strong understanding of traditional integration technologies ETL/ELT, data replication/CDC, message-oriented data movement / API
Basic understanding of Master Data Management and data virtualization
Strong ability to design, build and manage data pipelines for data structures encompassing data transformation, data models, schemas, metadata and workload management
Years of experience with data warehousing and data integration
Preferably Computer Science & Information Technology education (can be substituted by relevant experience
Residence and work permit in one of the Nordic Countries
